I've Been Busy..... Hmmmmmm, And STRAWBERRY FLAN CAKE

These are the people in front of my home waiting to see the baby. The crowds have been endless. I don't think you even see this kind of action on black Friday. We have installed two bouncers at the front door armed with Rottweilers and Taser guns but to no avail. Everyone wants to get in.

They have to just get a glimpse of this. Our little old man who already thinks he's a pirate.
I also have friends bringing over dinners and goodies, which is great. I mean except this particular friend. The one who brought chocolate cupcakes with blue frosting and all kinds of colored sprinkles.
It made me think Hmmmmm WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!!!??! Of course the kids loved them! I'm finding blue frosting everywhere. I found blue frosting in Papa's underpants and he didn't even eat a cupcake. Look at this fiasco.

He was under strict supervision. Can you imagine a kid left to his own devices?
Then because it is Spring and the Strawberries are fantastic right now I made Strawberry Flan

Mmmmm. Right?

Right!!!!!!
This is a great Easter Dessert. It is so yummy and yet soooo easy to make.
Here goes.
Ingredients:
One yellow cake mix
Strawberries
2 boxes Strawberry Danish Dessert
Cool Whip or Whipped Cream
Oh and you will need flan cake pans, I should have put a picture of the pans on here.
Spray pans with Pam baking spray or grease and flour them.
You will need two pans for one cake mix.
Make cake according to directions on the package, pour batter in the pans and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
Cool.
Slice strawberries any old way you want and top the cake.
Make Strawberry Danish Dessert according to the package.
When cool pour over strawberrie. I usually make the Danish Dessert first so it can be cooling.
Anyway Slice and Serve with a big old plop of whip cream. So DIVINE!!!!
I will post a picture of the cake pans and give you measurements so you can see what they look like.
I am going to go now I just found blue frosting in my ear.

That's flan? It looks more cakey. And delicious. I normally don't eat flan because of the texture.

You know I've never had flan before but if that's flan sign me up! It looks like strawberry shortcake though...

New babies bring out the crowds, don't they? He's a cutie. I once made a holly hobby cake for a birthday (years ago) There was blue poop in the diapers for a couple of days. At least the frosting matched his eyes. Mimi

The baby is so cute - I'd be elbowing my way through those crowds to get a look at him, too!

And hmmmm...blue frosting in Papa's underpants AND frosting in your ear? I think there's a lot more going on in Nana's Kitchen than Strawberry Flan (which looks delicious - thanks!)...

Thanks for posting a pick of my favorite cake ever! I have it for my birthday every year. Chris doesn't know how to make it so I end up make my own birthday cake, but I think this year I am going to wait for my mom to come up and make it for me. Who cares if it will be a couple of weeks past my birthday. I sure love that cake.

No one can ever say you aren't a proud grandma. And why wouldn't you be? Those babies are adorable.

I can make that Flan cake. I have the right pans, that I NEVER USE!

Have a good day.

I can't believe that you got a picture of me outside your house, Nana. I was trying to be so discreet.

If you would just invite me inside already, I wouldn't have to continually stalk you in this strange way.

Gosh, for some reason, it seemed like it had been forever since you posted, and I come over here to chastise you, and you just posted yesterday! Weird.

Hey, I'm for hire if you need anymore bouncers! I'll do it for free if you let me hold the baby for as long as I'd like!

I'm drooling over the flan!

Bad Nana! I'm dieting dangit!

LOL that is quite a crowd!! I think it's because it's a pirate baby...a normal baby wouldn't draw that many people! Either that or they want some of that flan!!!
