Take A Look, You Will Be Glad You Did!!!!!

Whoever said " The Lazy Days of Summer was out of their mind!!!! I found this little diddy on Kristina's blog Pulsipher Predictions awhile ago and found it fits me just fine. I indeed am a prisoner of Summer. That and Henry's little pooping situation, but I know it will all work out in the end. (get it, work out in the end) Henry is crying on the toilet as we speak, or as I type whatever.

Anyway Summer as we all know is a very busy time. My DIL Tara has taken busy to an all new level lately. I am in awe of her at this moment. Not only is she gutting and remodeling a house she has decided to get an all accessible playground built in her city.

Yep, that's what it will be named. She called her city counsil, met with them, told them what she wants and, get this... they AGREED. How did this all come about, you may ask. The little person below is her inspiration. Many of you know that Chloe is one of my grandchildren. Many of you know she is handicap, she is one of the sweetest little angel's you will ever meet. I want you to go here or here

or especially here to read Chloe's story and find out what this is all about and what maybe you can do to help.

No child should be left out but we all know many are. Many of us don't want to read stories about handicapped children because we don't want that to ever happen in our families and it scares us.

All I know is I am so thankful that God placed this little one into our families hands. Don't get me wrong it has been a long hard road, especially for Oby and Tara. It has been a road less traveled by most of us, but a road worth every step. A road that has put life in it's right perspective.

Who couldn't possibly be inspired by that little face?

Here is Chloe at our real family 4th of July party. (some of you may have read my redneck version) She is fishing there with Papa.

Look what she caught!!! A bright red boa, who knew feather boa's were just swimming around in the sea. I hope you all are having a great Summer! I am.

Sinfully Delish Banana Pudding or as Paula Dean calls it "Not Yo' Mamma's Banana Pudding"

Isn't this pretty. Please excuse the bags of crap on the floor. I had to tote a bunch of stuff to my brothers house for our 4th of July Extravaganza. I did not notice the bags-o-crap when taking my picture. I am mortified. (not)

A close up.
I made this for the 4th of July and it was a huge huge huge hit!! And only two people there were drunk, so I was getting solid reviews. I must add though even the drunks went back for seconds.
I am making it again this weekend for my sons 31st birthday. I know I am way to young to have kids that age, but we will discuss that at another time.
*I love Paula Dean. I got this recipe from her, she calls me occasionally and asks me to try her stuff out. I gladly oblige. This one is a keeper. Most of her things are, in my humble opinion.
Here goes:
2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessman Cookies, divided
6 to 8 bananas, sliced
2 Cups milk
1 5 ounce box instant French vanilla pudding ( I used plain old vanilla)
1 8 oz pkg. cream cheese, softened
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk ( I used two, one for the recipe and one for my beverage while making said dessert)
1 12 oz container frozen whipped cream topping, thawed, or an equal amount sweetened whipped cream. ( If you know me at all, you know I did not use the frozen whipped crap)
Line bottom of a 13 x 9 x 2 inch dish with 1 bag of cookies and put bananas on top. Blend milk with pudding mix with a hand held electric mixer until well blended.
( Hum one of your favorite tunes for a moment, my hands are going numb so I need to take a break. Too much gardening. )
Sorry for the inconvenience
.
Oh man, now the Jehova Witness's are at the door, just a moment.
They were very nice. I will read the Bible a little later today.
Line bottom of a wait........ sorry!
Beat cream cheese and condensed milk together in a bowl until smooth, fold in whipped cream. Add to pudding mixtgure, stirring until well blended. pour mixture over cookies and bananas, cover with remaining cookies. Refrigerate.
One quick suggestion. Put the bananas on top of cookies just before you pour the pudding mixture over them. Banana's go brown so fast that, that just looks gross.
* Paula Dean never calls me. I wish she would! I'd probably poop my pants though.

Fury of The Super Heroes

Is this who comes to YOUR house when you dial 911?

That is one motley crew of Super Heroes if I have ever seen one! Especially Pringle Boy in the back there, seems his power was leaving behind a trail of crumbs.

Later in the evening a fight broke out and Chicken Girl got her feathers plucked, she then went home. Power Ranger was being a big chicken doo doo. It seems Buzz was an innocent by stander who couldn't exactly tell us what happened. ( those of you who know Buzz will understand what I mean by that statement) Later, after sitting in Time out Power Ranger admitted to what he had done. He then received his fair punishment. Let's just say his powers were taken away and leave it at that.

I don't know if this dynamic trio will be getting back together any time soon. Hopefully our streets will remain relatively safe for the time being. Just to be safe make sure you lock your doors!

Our Family 4th of July

Things didn't get off to a very good start. My brother called to tell me he wasn't feeling well and may not be able to "Run" the party. I told him to gut it up because we were coming!
I also told him to get that ridiculous sign out of his front yard I was bringing friends and didn't want them to think we are tacky. Besides that....

I knew his dogs could patrol the area and they would let us know if their were any problems.

We had such a good time hot tubbing.....

I hate when cousin Sheila shows up.

And her daughters.

We swam for hours. I loved that we got to see relatives we hadn't really kept in touch with.

We couldn't pick Sandra up until her community service was over. What a drag.

Oh yeah we did go mud- ridin!! Billy is all business up front but in the back, you know it's a party!

These two are jerks. I just wish they would have stayed home.

I was so happy mom could make it!!

Frank is just the sweetest thing.

His wife on the other hand, well she's a witch, she thinks she's a princess. Honest she wears that hat everywhere! Plus she thinks she is sooooo sexy. Look at aunt Bertha giving her the evil eye.

Here I am with all my girl cousins.

I am just glad my brother was kind enough to let us into his home and enjoy each others company for awhile. He did feel much better by the end of the day. Hope you all had a great 4th!!

Chocolate Toffee Ice Cream Dessert, A Moose and a Bong

Last night Taylor and I were watching So You Think You Can Dance when she announced there was a horse running along the hill across from our house. I jumped up to investigate and saw that it indeed was not a horse but it was a MOOSE . ( He wasn't smiling like this one is.)

Like idiots we all ran outside to look at it. He ran into our brand new neighbors back yard. So their we stood, Taylor , me, mom and Papa in front of our brand new neighbors house gawking. The neighbors kept looking out the window at us, probably regretting moving in. Finally Scott ( the new guy) came out to see what was going on. We all yelled in unison " There is a moose in your back yard." He ran back in the house and did not return.
The neighbor who lives on the other side of us had previously poked his head outside to see what the hub bub was all about. I told him and he too went back in the house. Well I couldn't stand the thought that he was missing out so I decided to go bang on his door and tell him to get outside and take a look. His door has a big window in it with no coverings what so ever. Maybe he should think about getting some. (especially with me as a neighbor)
Imagine my other big surprise when I ran up to the door and saw him sitting on the couch doing this..... His bong wasn't quite this big but it definitely was a bong! After I invited myself in and we passed it between us a few times (not really he about crapped his pants) anyway I said get out here there is a moose in the neighbors yard.
He was like "Are you kidding I thought you said it was an Owl and I thought Owl's are cool but why are they all running around out there."
I was like " That's because your high dude." No I didn't say it I just thought it. I didn't say it because he thought he so slyly hid it from me when I was knocking on his door. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he broke it when he threw it under his couch. What a dork. Later in the evening when his munchies kicked in Tay and I sat and laughed at him scouring his cupboards and fridge like a maniac.
I tell ya he has no blinds. We live in the city our houses are close together. Tay and I are bored... need I say more?
O.k. now for the recipe. Maybe I'll make one for old Billabong next door.
This would be great for the munchies er, or the 4th of July. Whatever I don't judge.
2 cups crushed chocolate graham crackers
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 sup butter, melted
1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream, softened
2 packages milk chocolate toffee bits
1 jar (11.75 oz.) caramel ice cream topping ( I like Mrs. Richards)
1 pint whipped whipping cream w/ 1 TBS. sugar added to it, or if you are too lazy to get the beater out and whip up some cream use an 8 oz. tub of Cool Whip. COME ON Cool whip? Whip Cream kicks Cool Whips butt!!!!
Hot Fudge ( optional, if you are an idiot!)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease a 13 x 9 x 2 baking dish. In a small bowl, combine cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter. Press evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Bake for 8 minutes; let cool.
Combine softened ice cream, one bag of toffee bits and spread over cooled cracker crust, freeze for 15 minutes. Pour caramel over the ice cream mixture spread evenly and freeze for another 15 minutes. Top with Whip cream and spread evenly. Sprinkle 1/2 bag of toffee bits over the whip cream and freeze for at least 4 hrs.
To serve, cut dessert into squares and drizzle (yeah right) pour tons of hot fudge over the top.
I do believe I have posted my hot fudge recipe already. If not too bad. Bong boy is at it again, so I have to go ummm visit.
Have a great 4th everyone!!!!!!
