Tater Taco Casserole.... and a few more pictures

I made this on the kids behalf the other night, and we all liked it a lot.
It's a quick and easy meal, add a green salad and you've got it made.

2 lbs ground ground beef
1 medium onion chopped
1 envelope taco seasoning
2/3 cup water
1 can ( 11 0z.) whole kernel corn, drained
1 can ( 11 0z.) condensed fiesta nacho cheese soup, undiluted
1 package ( 32 oz.) frozen Tater Tots

1. In a skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, drain. Stir in taco seasoning and water. Simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes. Stir in corn and soup.

2. Transfer to a greased 13 X 9 in. baking dish. Arrange Tater Tots in a single layer over the top. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 30 -35 minutes or until potatoes are crispy and golden brown.

On another note. Yesterday as I was preparing to put a roast in the crock pot for French Dip Sandwiches, I thought Hmmmm maybe I should put two in. It's a good thing I did because almost the whole family showed up for dinner. They hear French Dip and they are here!!!

Chloe was in a very giggly mood and she loved her butterfly bandanna. Her mother dubbed her the Butterfly Bandit. Now you are about to see the two moods of Chloe. We have happy and giggly and.....

this. Her mother had the nerve to put her in the high chair.

We also had entertainment. I caught these two going at it. They crack me up.

Little Will sleeps through it all. Look at that precious little hand.

Yep, he wasn't impressed with any of us. BTW we made sure Papa had on a decent outfit this morning before he left for work!

Evidently I Need More Duct Tape.....and Papa Needs a New Fashion Advisor

Things were eerily quiet downstairs as Taylor, Aisha, and I were visiting yesterday afternoon. Henry (2 almost 3) and Izzy (2) were playing in the boys bedroom. Even as I was walking down the stairs the quiet was deafening. I rounded the corner of the stairway, walked into the bedroom and this is what I saw. Hmmmmm..... something is not right here I thought to myself.
I went to the closet door , swung it open and found......
this!!! "Hi Nana, Henry did it." Every piece of clothing hanging on the lower rack of the closet and some of the shirts hanging from the top rack were piled on the floor. Hangers were flung everywhere. I immediately sent for Duct tape, my new favorite baby sitter.

Before taping was to begin I told these two heathens to clean up this mess. Yeah right! This is the only cleaning that was accomplished by this gruesome twosome, yes she handed Henry a shirt which he promptly threw on the floor. This is a cute picture of Izzy's sassy, saucy new hair do. It matches her personality.
As soon as I got these two taped to the columns outside on the porch, Aisha and I started hanging up shirts and more shirts and well here is a close up.

Nice little mess huh?
This afternoon Papa came home from work, we were discussing the day when I noticed something was awry with his out fit. He had on a blue plaid shirt with Navy blue plaid suit pants!

I asked him if that was indeed what he wore to work. He exclaimed "YES, WHY!??" I said "No reason you just look like a clown!" He then informed me that no one at the office said anything to him. I said "Yeah to your FACE, I'm sure behind your back there was plenty to say!"
He then explained to me that this morning he asked P.J. (who is 5) if his outfit looked nice. P.J. said it did and he would know because he has good taste.
Me: You actually took fashion advice from a 5 year old.
Papa: Well you kissed me good bye, TWICE and didn't say anything. I know you were just thinking "get the Hell out of here already!" ( He was getting a little testy now.)
Me: Well I wasn't looking at your pants while I was kissing your face. To me it looked like you had on your navy blue slacks, my eyes hadn't had time to focus on the circus act in front of me!
Papa: Well I was always told you never wear plaid with stripes!
Me: Well you never wear plaid with plaid either!

I was then informed this is his new motto:

Then I was directed outside to the driveway , yes this is our new car. It was supposed to be a fantastic surprise and I had ruined the mood.

We look like a big blob of scotch tape driving down the highway. Whatever.
I also thought you might like to see some more baby pictures, so here ya go:

This morning they were watching cartoons, pretending to be a family. P.J. is the dad with his two babies. I wonder if this was before or after the fashion advice he gave Papa. It really doesn't matter now, does it?

I've Been Busy..... Hmmmmmm, And STRAWBERRY FLAN CAKE

These are the people in front of my home waiting to see the baby. The crowds have been endless. I don't think you even see this kind of action on black Friday. We have installed two bouncers at the front door armed with Rottweilers and Taser guns but to no avail. Everyone wants to get in.

They have to just get a glimpse of this. Our little old man who already thinks he's a pirate.
I also have friends bringing over dinners and goodies, which is great. I mean except this particular friend. The one who brought chocolate cupcakes with blue frosting and all kinds of colored sprinkles.
It made me think Hmmmmm WHAT WAS SHE THINKING!!!??! Of course the kids loved them! I'm finding blue frosting everywhere. I found blue frosting in Papa's underpants and he didn't even eat a cupcake. Look at this fiasco.

He was under strict supervision. Can you imagine a kid left to his own devices?
Then because it is Spring and the Strawberries are fantastic right now I made Strawberry Flan

Mmmmm. Right?

This is a great Easter Dessert. It is so yummy and yet soooo easy to make.
Here goes.
One yellow cake mix
2 boxes Strawberry Danish Dessert
Cool Whip or Whipped Cream
Oh and you will need flan cake pans, I should have put a picture of the pans on here.
Spray pans with Pam baking spray or grease and flour them.
You will need two pans for one cake mix.
Make cake according to directions on the package, pour batter in the pans and bake at 350 for 20 minutes.
Slice strawberries any old way you want and top the cake.
Make Strawberry Danish Dessert according to the package.
When cool pour over strawberrie. I usually make the Danish Dessert first so it can be cooling.
Anyway Slice and Serve with a big old plop of whip cream. So DIVINE!!!!
I will post a picture of the cake pans and give you measurements so you can see what they look like.
I am going to go now I just found blue frosting in my ear.

Sorry People

If you are sick of baby pictures, just change the channel. New grandma's do go on a bit.

With no one home to supervise last night, Henry went country dancing.
Back at the hospital today, Henry and P.J. held William. Henry lasted about 2 seconds. One...

and two.
Henry: "Yeah this is lame."

P.J. is trying to imitate William with his eyes closed here. It just isn't as cute is it. Actually it is my camera. The thing is slower than cold tar moving up hill on a winter day. Hence closed eyes.

P.J. didn't want to put William down.

William slept through the whole thing.

Henry: "I am so oooooover this kid, besides that country dancing last night really took it's toll."

Remember yesterday's fat Leprechaun?

Just to review.....
This is her today, yes we have our newest member of our family now.

P.J. and Henry meeting their little brother William this afternoon. William was Taylor's biggest baby at 5 lbs. 12 oz. and 19 inches long. He was 3 1/2 weeks early. Taylor also has her babies early always!

Look at the cheeks. I am in nibbling mode already.

He is a thumb sucker, that is for sure.

Hi cousin!!!! Chloe had to get in on the action.

"I think he's ignoring me, rude!"

Papa and Henry. Henry did not know what to think.

P.J. holding Will with Papa's help.

"Hey Chloe what do you think about all this baby stuff?" "Well Henry I don't know. I think we should have another swig of Mountain Dew and think it over. BTW do you know I am getting a posh new wheel chair pretty soon?"

Brothers watching Will get his first bath. We had a great day and so far everyone is doing great.
Babies are the best!!!!
