Here is our tour guide through the SPOOK ALLEY. I think he is the scariest thing out there!! He likes to grab things in the dark.

Hmmm, another witch. You know the other witch disappeared. I hope she didn't make it to your bedrooms kiddies. Ha ha ha ha. Papa did tell them that.

We heard strange noises down in the back yard.

Some of the the noise was that dang scary Mexican, and his Werewolf friend.

This guy lives in our attic window every October but, this year he escaped!!!! Eeeeek.

He wants to eat the children!

Here is our motley backyard crew. Notice our monsters all seem to have obsessions w/ West High. You know three of them are single. The Ogre, the maimed man in his gardening hat and the Werewolf. Come on ladies don't ya think they are hotties.

This is what will happen to you if you step on this guys tomatoes. Poor guy didn't stand a chance.

See, he is warning those pesky kids not to dare step on one tomato or else!! Most of them had left screaming anyway.

Halloween Fun

Notice Zeke has no clothes on. There was good reason for that. His mother knew frosting was going to be everywhere but on the cookie. (mom frosted the cookie)

My daughter Megan, DIL Aisha, daughter Taylor, myself. I am wearing a darling apron Tara (who preferred not to be in the picture because of wet hair) gave me, it is not a moo-moo. Oh, and my mom hiding behind us because she is still in her pajamas. The woman does not get dressed until at least 2:00.
Anthony, (he no longer likes to go by Tonio) with his cookies. Is he flashing gang signs? I better check into that.
Cute little Izzy was not feeling so swell but, she loved decorating. Those cookies look spooky to me.

Again I show you P.J's lovely technique. Do you think he had enough sugar there? He wanted more.
We had to show you all Zeke's shirt, because Papa is a power lifter. We call him the old Silver Back Gorilla. When Meg saw this she had to buy it. Megan used to power lift with Papa. (competitively, she won a world record, she was like the tiniest female there) Anyway that is the story with the shirt.
My brother the Sheriff with Chloe ( no one likes her) Remember he's the one that made the would be car thief poop his pants. Ha ha that story will live forever. Well it's Halloween time so there will be much more Halloweening to come. Have a great day.

Caramel Corn

First I must say I love my new header!! Tara my DIL was is charge of picture taking at our Sugar Cookie/Caramel Corn Swaray and she took some darn cute pics. Everyone of my grand kids except cute baby Will is in the shot. He was sleeping.



My recipe for Sugar Cookies is already documented in my blog recipe's it is not the buttery sugar cookie recipe (although those are delish also) These cookies are so light and fluffy, because they have 6 eggs in them. Papa's grandma used to say they were like eating little cakes. That about sums it up.



Here is the Caramel Corn recipe. I took a picture but, my camera was stolen by my picture taker.



Here goes:



2 Cubes of butter ( 1 Cup)

2 1/2 Cups packed brown sugar

1 Cup Karo syrup (Dr. Oz says this stuff is death but what does he know? The answer to that question is everything. I love him, but a little Caramel Corn at Halloween won't kill you. I don't think anyway. I'll ask Dr. Oz.)

1 Cup sweetened condensed milk ( I wonder what Dr. Oz would say about this stuff.)



In a large heavy pot, melt the butter. Then mix in all the rest of the ingredients. Keep the heat at a medium low at this time. Then when everything is mixed well turn the heat up a little bit stirring constantly until you can tell the mixture is coming to a boil. Let it come to a boil and let it boil for 5 minutes. Be careful with your heat because this stuff scorches easily. DO NOT stir during this 5 minute period just let it come to a slow rolling boil. If you don't the Caramel Corn will be sugary.



After the mixture has finished boiling, pour over popped corn. Let me see I use about 10 to 12 Cups. (I think) Sorry about the measurement there. I just pop as much as my popcorn popper will hold.



Mix the Caramel and pop corn together well. I use a large wooden spoon for this. Remember this stuff is beyond hot, so don't be stupid and burn yourself. Definitely do not lick the spoon with out making sure it won't burn your tongue off. I have done this in the past. Not fun!!



Pour mixture out on some wax paper. spread it out so it isn't just a big blob of Caramel Corn sitting there and let cool. You can make it into popcorn balls if you want to but, I don't. Too big of a hassle.

Henry and Izzy watching QVC

A few weeks ago QVC was having a Fall Festival day. I was watching to see if they had any cool Halloween stuff on the show. This caught Henry and Izzy's attention. Izzy was positive this was much too scary for Henry to watch.


She takes Henry by the hand.

Then she tries to shield him from the horror.

"It's o.k. Henry"

Notice though Henry has not moved through this whole sequence. Izzy however, seems to be the one with the problem. They are so funny!!! I didn't get to buy anything but this sure made it worth watching. LOL.

It's Begining To Look A Lot Like.... Halloween

I love Halloween. I can't believe it took me so long to get my village started this year. I got this far and was pooped. I will post the rest later. I wish the pictures would have turned out better. Oh well at this point I don't think I really care.
